It’s All Your Fault Linda!
My fascination with the Amish started many years ago. My oldest daughter’s class went on a field trip to an Amish farm. Her 4th grade teacher grew up as neighbors to an Amish family and each year she took her class out to visit the one room school and their farm. I went along that year as a chaperone. I was there 10 minutes and thought to my myself “I love this lifestyle”. I was so taken with the whole farm thing I wanted to convert on the spot. However, I had a strong suspicion that my Porsche, jewelry, make up and high heels were going to be major sticking point that neither of us was willing to compromise on so the conversion idea only lasted about 2 minutes. My curious friendship with the Amish family on the other hand has lasted over 9 years. We could not be more different and yet our families have enjoyed wonderful times together. We have worked and played, laughed and cried, celebrated and mourned together. These are our stories.
Thank you Linda!
