I Need A Porch!

This is our house. We have no porch. I am sad about this.
It would appear by the following photos that everyone in Thousand Island Park has a porch. Everyone but me! I have this photo of my house as my screen saver and I look at it each day and I still can’t figure out how to attach a porch that would look great and be functional. So, in the meantime – let’s look at everyone’s porches and see if we can’t steal an idea or two.

Look at this lovely porch and all the wonderful gingerbread and lattice and flowers. How can I get that onto my sad little house?

Another lovely porch.

You know how I love blue.

This is a gingerbread showcase porch. Look at that trim, the paint, the detail.

Two porches, the top one is screened in and it is called a sleeping porch and everyone puts the kids out there to sleep. Love the steps!

Three porches! And still I have no porch. Now, I am not jealous, just a little envious.
This is the pavilion. They have dances and parties upstairs and downstairs they have parties and it is also where they have yoga every morning at 8am. It is a great building and has one heck of a porch.

And then there is this house. This is my little sister’s house. The whole house is a porch. Now I am jealous! Just kidding. My house is just fine porch-less.

Just look at the character it has compared to all the above houses. It’s the same right? Don’t answer that.

Mama Ann,
I do agree that a porch can add character to a house and is a great enjoyment. This house in particular would look lovely with a porch wrapped around the circular part and extended to the right end of the house (where those stairs are). I think that you can work it out with Bob. : )
But I would also like to add that your houses have their own unique character with your innate sense of design and style. I love each and everyone of them.

Your house is beautiful. Some things are never easy. Can’t you just add a porch to the side of the home. Better yet – tell Bob you need a home with a porch.

Can’t you get your friend, The Builder , to come up with something or better yet his architect. I am sure it can be done! Good luck!
