My Little Pony
Isn’t this the cutest little pony cart you have ever seen?I bought one for Donny and T but I don’t think they loved it as much as I do. I was so much more excited than they were. In fact, I was a little disappointed at their lack of enthusiam. Rotten kids. We keep this little fella up in Thousand Island Park because the sidewalks and roads are flat, and it is so easy to ride it around up there. I would ride it myself if I could only fit my fat behind in it. And the added bonus is that there is no feeding or cleaning up after this guy.
So you can only imagine my disappoinment when I went back to get one for Debbie’s grandchild, Cole, and they said the Amish man that made them didn’t do it anymore. Then one day I was at the Amish hardware store and there was a Amishman delivering some wagons. I stopped and asked him if he knew anyone who made the little pony carts, since the base of it looked similar to the wagon. The Amish are always a little hesitant to come right out and say they know anything about anyone. They check you out first, and then decide how much they know and how much they will tell you they know. His own brother could be making them but he wouldn’t tell me right off. I don’t know why this do this, it’s like pulling teeth. Anyway, we traded business cards and that was it. About 3 months later I got a call from Amos King and guess what, he has made a horse and pony cart, because his cousin said I was looking for one. Yippee! I go out on Saturday to his house ( he is a retired farmer and lives with his wife in a double wide ( yes, as in trailer) at the end of the lane of his daughter and son-in-law’s farm. I then gave the pony cart to Cole who definitely had the correct response and was thrilled to have his pony cart. I will make a little Amish child out of one of these kids sooner or later.
