I know, I don’t look like I would like this kind of music. Then again maybe I do. I just got my hair cut into a very funky Lisa Rhinna look so maybe I am looking the part after all. Of course with teenagers in the house I find myself listening to more pop music than anything else. It has nothing to do with being cool it just that they like it really loud and I can’t hide from it. Consequently, through osmosis, I find myself knowing the words to alot of these songs which makes them really crazy when I sing along to the radio, out loud, in the car, with their all friends in the backseat, listening to me!!! This is how that scenario goes down.

ME: What do you mean I can’t sing?  I love to sing and I know all the words.

JILL: Stop singing right now, no other mom sings in the car, you are embarrassing me.

KIDS: Oh, Jill let your mom sing, it is so cute. She even know the words.

ME. See they don’t mind.

JILL: Stop right now. Stop the car and we will walk the rest of the way.

ME: What? You want to walk to the dance, but it is 3 miles away.

JILL: Then stop singing, besides you can’t even carry a tune and you are saying the words all wrong. It’s papapa poker face not mamama poker face.

ME: (sad face) Ok, I promise I won’t sing with your friends in the car anymore.

And then as soon as the little bugar is out of the car I lock the doors, I roll all the windows down and blast the radio really loud and start singing again. MAMAMA Poker face. And I drive away slowly. I vaguely see her really mad face in the rear view mirror and so I stick my hand out of the window and do the Saturday Night Fevor pointing hand dance. I will pay for this later.

Now, the fact of the matter is that I do know the words to all the songs (or at least what I think are the words) in this mashup. Scary I know. Becca played this mashup of the top 25 songs of 2009 from DJ Earworm and I thought it was very cool.  Just a little FYI, an informal definition of earworm is a catchy song or tune that you can’t get out of your head.
