Amish Farming 101
Lancaster County Amish Farms. Now there are some real farms for you. I don’t know when my facination with the Amish started but it certainly has been more than a passing phase. Now, I know that I could never be Amish nor do I want to be Amish. I love my Porsche, HDTV and diamonds too much. But aside from those things and perhaps a few others, too numerous to mention, I used to think that I had the hardy constitution to live that lifestyle. That was until I worked one day on an Amish farm. Hard, hard work, back breaking, hot and sweaty, stinkin hard work. But I didn’t quit. I stuck it out the whole day from the first milking at 5:30am until the last milking at 5:30pm. I have to say it was the most hard working and satisfying work day I ever had. I did sleep for 16 hours the next day which if I had been a real farm girl would not happened. But hey – that’s why I am the Faux farm girl and this will never be my farm. And I will always be a Faux Farm Girl.
