Fall Apples
I was thrilled when I saw these apples – a bounty of rosy perfect apples. Unfortunately not a one of them was mine. As you can see, their trees are beautiful and mature and they must spray and prune. They look great! I will definitely have to get onto that next year.
Of course since I am a true Faux Farm I might just hot glue some red plastic apples on the trees come September. Then I can buy the eatin apples from my neighbors.
Ok, I know I told you that I don’t really grow anything at the Faux Farm but it turns out that is a lie. I did grow something this year. I got one really good apple from my apple trees. There wasn’t a worm or bruise on it. It was perfect and it was tasty, very tasty and I gave everyone a bite. Just one bite. Extremely generous of me considering that it was the only good apple from four trees. I sort of felt like the witch in Snow White as I went to each of the kids and stretched out my hand presenting the apple to them and I said ” Take just a bite dearies”! The kids did not fall into a deep slumber – instead they laughed at me said I was a really bad farmer to only get one good apple and why didn’t I grow something fun like pumpkins. Then I felt like Eve when I said to Bob in my most sexy voice ” Take a bite – just one bite” and he never looked up and said ” Hold that thought – it’s the last play of the game”. Now where would we be if Adam said that to Eve? Come on guys, everyone knows there is no football in the Garden of Eden! There were only apples and it only took one. And since that was all I had it looks like I do have my own little Garden of Eden. So turn off the TV, put on the loin cloth and eat the apple Bob!!
