Muscoot Farm
Remember, you are never too far from a faux farm. Just down the road from my brother’s house is this lovely park and farm called Muscoot Farm.
Look closely and you can see the name in the roof shingles. How interesting and clever, but not so farmy. It is the Noah’s ark of faux farms as they seem to have a few of every farm animal you might want, if you had a farm. But since this place is so close, and they are willing and able to feed, clean and care for all the various animals, why would you want to do it yourself?
There, can you see the name better in this photo? Great looking barn, couldn’t do it better myself if I do say so.
The kids had a great time running around and although it was rather cold, all the animals and kids were oblivous. Now it is time for the animals.
Here is a lovely cow.
And look at those pigs! These are the kind of animals I need at my Faux Farm. No muss, no fuss wooden cut out animals. How funny would that be! Sick, but funny! OK seriously, they really did have live animals at this farm.
See! Real pigs. Now which picutre of pigs do you like better and which pigs would you rather take care of? I knew it, the wooden cut out ones! Faux Farming is definitely the way to go.
Oh look, how cute a little black and white calf. But wait, what is that in the pen next to him?
A sheep in calf clothing? A faux sheep? I wondering what is going on at this farm.
That’s better. We don’t want any designer sheep. Just regular, grass eating, wool producing ewes.
I am talking to all of ewe!
EWE? Not so much. This guy was very bossy around the little goats and smelled very odd – very musky. and every time I tried to take a picture he rammed the fence and stuck out his tongue. I won’t be having one of these at my farm.
Now, wipe off your shoes, get in the car and let’s go out have a Starbucks and do some shopping.
More Muscoot Farm tomorrow.

Annie
