Let’s Fix This Barn
So this is the SOOC shot. That means Straight out of the Camera.
Now that you know that I took a special little 3 hour Photoshop Elements course at the local night school you should be suspect of all my photos. More importantly, I am not yet too good at it somy fixes be be apparent – but for people who are really good at Photoshop-you won’t be able to detect the fixes. Therefore, you should be suspect of all photos.
Now you see how I lightened this photo up just a tad. Then I boosted the color saturation just a little. Looks better doesn’t it?
On this version I reduced the saturation completely making a black and white photo. One picture, three looks. I can’t wait till my next class – who knows what I will do then. Maybe paint the barn, fix the roof and install new windows. Photoshop Elements is only about $70.00 and has most of what you need. Yes, there is Photoshop CS3 at about $600.00- but I don’t have the time, patience, brains or detrmination to get that invovled in fixing my photos. I try to take the best picture I can so I don’t have too much editing to do. Remember to look around your subjectto see what else you are shooting – sometimes just changing the angle or zooming in can get rid of a lot of unwanted stuff in the shot – like a trash can, cars, trailers, etc.. Also, remember to keep your shot straight – if your camera has a grid option, use it. It will help you keep everything straight, and again that is one less edit you have to do. Make a copy of any photo you decide to mess with so if it doesn’t work out for you, you still have the original intact. Always play with the copy. Have fun.
