My New Camera
Yes those are rain drops on a petal of a Rose of Sharon flower. How’s that for a macro lens!
Due to circumstances out of my control I had to get a new camera. I did alot of research. Should I get the newest verson of my faithful little Sony dsc-h10 (the d-20) or try a Nikon or Canon compact? Decisions, decisions. In case you are in the mode for a new camera there are two good sites for checking out details and comparision. They are: http://www.reghardware.co.uk/ which has some very detailed reviews and is quite informative and the other site: www.imaging-resource.com allows you to compare any two cameras. Having done on the research on line I ended up at Best Buys. They had the Nikon, Sony and Canon right there. After playing around and asking alot of questions I ended up with the Sony cybershot dsc-h20- again. I loved the macro, the size and the ease. They changed a few things – some good, some bad. They no longer have a neck strap which is bad for someone like me- I need all the help I can get holding on that the darn camera. And they used to have a digital zoom which if it is there – I can’t find it! In actuality I didn’t use that feature all that much because it ended up very grainy and was too sensitive to camera shake. They moved the zoom feature off the handle grip which was a smart move and the lens cap is a simple cap and not the old locking mechanism. All in all I am very happy with my new camera. It is still small enough to throw in my purse and yet- takes some great photos. At 10 megapixels and 10 x optical zoom I am happy. The other cameras offered more zoom or more pixels but they are larger and more expensive and if I am giong to get into a larger camera I might as well pull out my Canon Rebel xti and go with the real thing. So after all that chatting here are some new photos. It was a good day for photos as it had just rained. Check it out.
I remember this little flower from when I was a kid but I don’t remember the name. It is weed of some sort but here it looks rather special. It’s the camera!
Now you know that is a great macro shot! Look at his little pointy legs. But wait, there’s more.
You can actually see the pollen covering his little body. And those wings! I love this little camera for the macro lens alone. I could not find another compact camera that could produce shots like these.
Check out the post on the home page for some not so macro shots.
