Faux Farming
Finally, I was able to go out to my Faux Farm. And finally it wasn’t raining!
I just drove around for about an hour and took photos, enjoying the beautiful weather and the impending end of summer. Some of the corn fields have already been cut down, the rest just waiting for dry weather. I think the if the weather holds these remaining corn fields will be cut down for silage within the next week.
This field is ready for cutting. Can you see the faint brown line at the edge of the cornfield? That is where the first pass of about 10 rows of corn have been cut down. Now the farmers have a path so that they can bring in the team of mules and the cutting machine to cut the rest down.
The clouds were so cool this morning just before the sun broke through.
A little stone shed in the field.
Cows and a windmill- you don’t get much more farmy than that. And no the camera isn’t crooked. This is the down hill side of a hill.
Hey little fella, don’t you love when the wind blows your mane all around?
Don’t fence me in!
I was just so glad to get out here, I wanted to take more photos but I had to go to the Faux Farm and face my gardens. WEEDS WEEDS and more WEEDS. The Faux Farm will temporarily be referred to as the “Weed Farm” until further notice. Between all the rain, the sprinkler system which ran when it wasn’t raining and the fact that no one was there to weed for 4 weeks the weeds grew like, well, weeds. I should have had Barry our lawn guy do it or even young Len next door but, I just forgot. I will now pay the price. See post under Home and garden for the weeding extravaganza
