Buggies
We call them buggies but the Amish call them carriages. They are an integral part of the Amish way of life.
You thought it was hard to find your car in a parking lot! When there is a large gathering of carriages they sometimes use chalk and write a number on the grey side of the buggy. Our version of a valet ticket.
Of course, you have to also remember where you parked your horse as you won’t get too far without the engine! The horses are usually tied up inside a barn, around a grove of trees or the shady side of a building.
Rain or shine the carriage and horse take the amish where they need to go.
