GET OUT AND GET DIRTY

• Put down a pre-emergent to keep down weeds (Preem) and then immediately put down mulch.
• Keep mulch about 12 inches from your foundation and don’t put it down too thick – 1-2 nches.
• Plant lots of pansies. They give you instant color and they will last until it gets too hot for them.
• Plant perennials for future summer color.
• Remember to check your planting zone for perennials and only plant appropriate plants if you want to see them again next year.
• Plants shrubs and trees so they get a good start on the growing season before it gets too hot and dry.
